February is also Heart health month. Heart disease is the #1 killer among Black Americans. Specifically, cardiovascular diseases kill nearly 50,000 Black women annually. It is imperative that we learn how to take control of protecting our health and wellness; by educating ourselves and practicing healthier habits including eating, exercising & engaging our community.
UBMA is thrilled to welcome Chef Chris Donaldson, a talented & respected personal chef in Detroit, who will show us how to prepare an easy heart healthy meal for ourselves and our families; in addition to sharing healthy foods we should all keep in our kitchen. We will cook together on Saturday February 6th, 6pm EST.
